Thaitown

One of the few designated Thaitowns in the world, Thai is now the third most spoken language in Haymarket. The heart of Thaitown is in Campbell Street, with restaurants, grocers and specialty retailers.

Haymarket's Thaitown is one of the largest Thai enclaves outside of Thailand, with a plethora of authentic Thai restaurants that highlight the fragrant spices of this fiery cuisine. Located on Campbell St near Capitol Theatre and spilling over to surrounding streets, visitors can soak up Thai culture through the many grocery stores, cafes, street food stalls and bars, which all sell unique Thai products. The area bursts to life during Thai festivals, such as Songkran and Loy Krathong, where colorful parades, traditional music, and dance performances create a festive atmosphere.
